Vitamin K is a group of fat-soluble vitamins that have a large role in many bodily functions. You need vitamin k to produce the protein, prothrombin, important in your blood clotting and bone metabolism. Vitamin K has also been recently discovered to play a key role in the bodies ability to absorb calcium, making it important when taking a calcium supplement.
